Renate Greiss was born in germany. She studied with Klaus Schochow, Aurele Nicolet and Jean-Pierre Rampal. She was prize-winner of serveral international competitions and played for five years as solo-flutist at the "Philharmonisches Staatsorchester Hamburg". After that she works as professor at the "Musikhochschule Karsruhe".
As a solist and chamber musician she played with the "Merlin Ensemble" and the "Bach-Collegium Stuttgart" all over the world. Also she was the first flutist of the "Bayreuther Festspielorchester".
She gives numerous master classes in Europe and Asia and is juror of national and international musical competitions.
